Chucks Family farm is located 7 miles south of Owatonna, Minnesota. The land was originally purchased by Chuck’s great-grandfather in 1892 for $20.00 an acre. (This is the 128th year anniversary of his families’ farm.) Chuck is the fourth generation of Homuth’s to own and live on the land, and Chuck’s sons will be the fifth generation. Chuck grew up learning about agriculture and the importance of taking care of and being a steward of the land.
Our first organically grown crop was Black Beans which were harvested in October 2016. In 2017 we planted organic Purple Corn, and in 2018 we again planted Black Beans. In 2019 we planted organic Sweet Corn. The farm has been proclaimed a Minnesota Century Farm by the state.
